My first Garment!!!

So excited to have completed this! I learned SO much! 1) I do NOT like mohair 2) I learned how to adjust the sizes to fit me, which I did not do here 3) I REALLY REALLY want a dress form 4) I CAN DO THIS!!!!!! Yeah for me!
Now I am working on the Frothy Scarf mentioned here.

Bracelet I made the other day for my niece's birthday. This photo isn't quite doing it justice, but I hope she has fun with it!

Trying to post here but...

Trying like the dickens to post photos here, but man, blogger won't let me! Anyway, I did manage to get this only photo on here today...hop on over to my Etsy on Sunday to see some of my new creations!

Went to a small "Art in the Park " in my community today, I saw many friends, but it got hot, Sophia got cranky and we couldn't stick around as long as I would have liked to. But I enjoy the show, since young crafters are encouraged to sell their stuff. I now wish I would have taken photos.

Also wanted to mention that I LOVE so many of the clothing designers on Etsy. I am going to "recreate" my wardrobe. Since I have not much cash, and many resources and ideas, 2010 might just be a whole new year for me and designing. and with any luck whatsoever, buying a few things!!

Do you see a color theme here?

Birdy embellishment in progress-

Successful thrifting! It is chilly here in Wisconsin this morning, and I am feeling it! Fall that is- One more week and school will begin here, so hard to believe! But, Rusty is gone again, and the sewing machine will be working OT. Also, I plan to get some much needed painting done in this house. We have lived here for 7 years already, and much of the work I did pre-children, needs to be re-done. My mom thinks I am crazy, but I promise I will not paint the kitchen or my bedroom. I have already done that a few times.

Oh yeah, any ideas for Rusty's 40th coming soon? I have a couple, but I am not entirely sold on any of them.

I love Thursday!

I love Thursday, thrifting day, well Friday too, but usually Thursday is a day I wait for all week so I can look for treasures. I have been really successful this year.
This is one day's work, with the help of my dear friend Patti. Actually it was a couple of months ago now, but I think I will go out today and see what I can find. I have more bracelets to work on, and I am embellishing the birds...stay tuned for their progress!

Working on more bling & Grandma's

Aunt Janell, showing a "movie" to the kiddos!

Sophia was so excited to be with her cousin Cedar! We had a really good time visiting!

Finished bling! Not so cute on the table cloth, but hopefully you get the idea. I am shocked and amazed by the interest my friends and family have in my creations. I now have a couple of orders and I think it is exciting!

Works in progress. I want to try a necklace soon also- I have a few ideas. EVERYTHING I am using is old, or at least re-purposed. It is fun to make stuff out of other people's junk!

After spending time with my family and extended family this weekend, I realized just how much of a junk collector I am! And I LOVE it! My whole family is into it too. My uncle has an old parking meter in his driveway. My aunt owns an antique/vintage store. My brother gave me the hot tip on some great new places to shop, and even my little sister Kate was intrigued by it all. Not to mention, my mom has the largest vintage button collection ever..of course, many of my finds come from her jars! Thanks mom!

Working on some bling!

I thought it is time to share the bracelets I have been working on. I have been collecting baubles and such for some time now, and I finally figured out how to put it all together.
