Weekend over already. Rusty is home from Canada safe, not so sound, he has a terrible bout with a chest cold, he was up all night coughing! But he went to work anyway. I received my fabric swap squares and I spent a great part of yesterday during Sophia's nap trying to figure out what to do with them exactly. I have a couple of ideas, but I would really like to make a large quilt of them. But at this point it looks unlikely. Fall crafting is here before me, and I have some Christmas ideas too. So I plan to get started with that before long.

Also, last week I finished up this Kristin Nicholas pillow kit. I really like it, I had planned to give it to Janell, but have since decided I might keep it for me, it really adds some excitement to my living room. Other than that we are headed to visit my dear friend Amy tomorrow for a few days and we are getting ready for that.

Saturday Morning at my house...

My cup empty at 6:30am.
Sophia's cup...empty 6:30 am.
Bills at the computer, need attention.
Rusty's packing project for Canada.
Jam Settling...
Table FULL of projects and soooo much to do...

So it is like this. Today I woke up to the messiest my house has been in months. Yesterday I was to get my swap squares out and by golly I was done and by 5:00 I was out the door to send them from the Post Office before 6:00. Rusty at the same time called the clinic to see if I could get Sophia in for an ear infection check. They naturally said, "if you come right away." So out the door I went. 1 hour and 22 minutes later, I was home. No ear infection, but late to send my package of fabric...argh...

Then we immediately went to a "meet baby Cooper" gathering, and came home just in time to make jam from the strawberries Jurnee and I picked on Thursday. So until 10:00 Jurnee (thank God for her help) helped me make jam. I crashed immediately after picking up our mess.

I woke up to the kitchen photos above.

I am hoping for some progress today. We just got home from the library though, and I discovered Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion. Now I have never been a fan, but I really like the mag.

So after I clean my kitchen, make Amish Friendship Bread (today is day 10 baking day) and play about 10 more games of Candyland Bingo, I might get to look at my library finds!

Visit with Maggie & Drew

Our fondest neighbor family moved away late last summer and left Jurnee sad for her very best friend Drew. In the meantime, baby Maggie came along and Sophie now has a new friend! See how Sophie loves to taunt new friends...anyway, we had a wonderful visit, and we really miss them.

On CRAFTY notes, I have signed up for the most exciting swap...fabric! I am on a quilting mission, I have quilt projects in my head that I cannot wait to work on. Anyway, there are 10 participants, each choosing 50 fabrics and 10 5" squares of each fabric to be cut... Well, it doesn't sound so bad, but to do this in a week, do you know how much time it takes me? But enough of that, I am looking at my fabric stash and I am so excited that I just want to create stuff! So I have lots of cutting to do in the meantime. You can find the swap host's blog here Jen Duncan. She does some amazing crafty things. We are like minded on the thrift thing. I will post my latest finds soon.
