She's 9 already!

Where have the years gone? We could not be more proud of our sweet Jurnee. She is amazing! Sophia loves her sister so much and Jurnee reciprocates. 3rd grade looks to be the best year yet!

Another fave present!

I got MANY fave presents for my birthday this year, and the press pot...yes a fave! Plus, I end up drinking so much less coffee in a day! Really, the first cup is always the best anyway!

I have a new section on the sidebar, check it out! Also, have you seen Kari & Kjisa lately? The pumpkins they have decorated are absolutely FABULOUS!!!! They could be some of the most talented gals ever! They inspire me so much, that I really feel like getting back into decorating, really I do. Also, my little sis and her creativity are blogging again, check her out also!

First Freeze

So what do you think of my dead plants? On October 2 ( My birthday) we had our first night freeze. Huge bummer - either God is reminding me of my age or winter is coming!!!!!!!!!
Whenever the camera comes out, Sophia says, "take a picture of me," then it is followed by "let me see!" I tried to take photos of us by holding the camera out, and this is the best of 5. We are having a ton of fun together, even though I miss Jurnee some as she is in school all day.

I went out for dinner with a few friends on Friday night to celebrate my 40th birthday, and the waiter tried to take a photo of us, and it looks pretty bad, but I am going to try to doctor it up and post it, mostly because my friends look great!

These great little birds came from my sweet friend Becky, she made them herself! I was so surprised! I have been wanting to try them for awhile now, but of course I haven't gotten around to it. I probably should fess up about my lack of posting, and creative expression on my blog. I have been working a part time job from home for some time, and it gives me tons of flexibility. However because of my husband's job going part-time for much of the year, I feel I have to do something, so I took on a full-time job at Lands' End. ( Actually I have been there part time also) So I am quite busy these days, as well as working on a few church projects, and did I mention, my "real" job? Mom to my wonderful little girls. My husband's job will hopefully be going full-time again starting this week, and he really is a great helper at home, of course the girls adore him. But anyway, that's my story.

Love the mail----

Love my new "miniature" dress form! I bought this from JKDuncan's Etsy shop, and I love it! Thank you Jen! It will be great in my NEW creative space!
What do you think of this inspiration above for my Birthday Party? I am planning an intimate affair with just my BFFs, ( btw almost none of them know each other, but they are my friends nonetheless!) Anyway, I got this fab idea from the latest Marie Claire Idees.
Check out the blog! It samples the feel of the mag. Taa Taa! Embroidery tomorrow and I am thinking a tutorial on my new quilt soon as well!

Happy Birthday to Jurnee...5 years old already!

Today is Jurnee's 5th birthday, and yesterday we had the "grandma" party which only consisted of my mom, her boyfriend, and my grandparents ( Rusty's dad is STILL at UW Hospital in Madison, so he missed it...and we missed him.)
The party was a success, she invited Emma and our close family friends. My little sweetheart was donned in her best mermaid attire the whole day, and she couldn't have been happier. Boy did the time go fast! Five already...sheesh! But it is a good time for us now too, we enjoy every minute with her so much.
And what do you think of the cake? Rusty's handiwork! I am telling you he is pretty stinkin' creative! I told him I want a purse cake for my birthday... I will reveal what he comes up with next week.
As for the OWL SWAP, I sure hope lori marie is especially patient with me, I am struggling to get this out, I thought Saturday, then I was sure today, now I am SURE tomorrow.
