See what I did this weekend?

You may or may not know I live down the road from Herrschners craft supply business. Mostly known for their stitching and yarn selections, it is my favorite go to place in town for fabric, threads, yarn and other stuff. Anyway, I have been doing a little bit of work for them for their catalog samples. The project above is a stamped cross stitch table runner, and I did it this weekend. I didn't get a real good photo, but you get the gist of the amount of work here. My left hand aches from holding the hoop! ( My stretcher is currently holding my tree of life cross stitch.)
Anyway, whew, that is done! Now I can work on some more cuffs, birds, pillows, wedding gifts, and the Blessings Sampler I spoke of in the last post, which brings me to share that I am NOT going to be hosting another blog for that project. Even though it was suggested, I think I will just post here. I will be back tomorrow with a Sampler update!

Craft store score & Birthday party happenings

Fuzzy Flip Flops from Grandma, don't they look so cute with her painted toes?

Silly string! The kids loved it!

My big 7 year old! She is learning so many new things! She lost her 6th tooth, she loves gymnastics and piano & gym class! And best of all, she is reading! Last night Jurnee read out loud solid to me for 30+ minutes. I am so excited to have a potential reader in the family.

In the past I have posted that I live near the craft supply warehouse Herrschners.
Yesterday I scored at an unadvertised sale. I got the two yards of Amy Butler fabric and all of the gadgets you see, including 2 crochet books for approximately $20. Woo Hoo! I love a deal! The fabric will be for Jurnee's bedroom window, so I have some work to do before daddy gets home in just 2 more nights. I have to get my craft on- I'll be back again soon!

Jurnee-bless her!

Well, what did this poor quality scan produce? My 35mm...yeah! Yesterday Jurnee went to the park (babysitter driving) and she looked down and, "Mom's camera!!!!" So there you have it. Just in time for the Circus today! Rusty's dad is doing well after the lung surgery, he will be going to the nursing home to convalesce. Prayers answered.

The quilt shop in town sent an e-mail and is closing soon. Too difficult to run two businesses 75 miles apart. Well, I could have told her that. And to be honest, for my liking, Herrschners has a much better selection of fabric. (Did I tell you that the store is just less than a mile from my house?) They have much Amy Butler, and said they will be getting Sandi Henderson in any time. Good for me, because I tried to order what I needed for my kitchen from Sew Mama Sew, and she is out of one of the colorways. I just wanted to try two so I would have a comparison...you know how it is.

Have a lovely day, I will be at the circus!

Thrifting

Friday was a great day of thrifting, I picked up a little fabric, some quilt mags, an ADORN mag that I missed (In the photo too...oops!) and drum roll please, about 100 more patterns! Now I better get to sewing & stitching!

Tomorrow I will post the fabric I got from Herrschners. Did I ever tell you that the Herrschners operation is just a mile down the road?

Anyway, they often have fabulous deals on yarn, stitching kits, scrapbook supplies and now, they have just brought back the fabric department! So

I just had to check out the sale. Actually I think there is a big scrapbook sale on today, but I am sewing
this week! lol

Also, just want to throw it out there, if any of you are looking for any "vintage" crafting mags, leave me a comment. I just found the hugest selection at my favorite local thrift shop, and I would be happy to pick any up for you. There were just too many for me to get all at once, plus, Sophia and her Dum Dum sucker were ready to go.

Those that are leaving me such nice comments about my girls and crafts, thank you, I have not been able to respond and would have liked to.
