What I've been up to...

Girls...look at the camera please!
All we see around here is mosquitoes, unfortunately not the metal and glass kind. We are so bit up here. I am sure all of the large mosquito population here in Wisconsin has to do with the extremely wet winter we had and the extremely wet spring. But they can freeze up now, it is difficult to let the girls play when it is like this. Literally, we open the door and about 5 fly in and about 10 chase us.
And Ta Da...messing around with the "flower" (macro) button on my new camera. I have so much to photo, at least of my house projects and girls, and my crafting. I will be back on the blog full force now.
Rusty's dad is doing well. He has such an outstanding attitude about all of his ailments, he truly is inspiring.
Now that I am back into the swing of things around here, I hope to blog hop and see what everyone else is up to.

Jurnee-bless her!

Well, what did this poor quality scan produce? My 35mm...yeah! Yesterday Jurnee went to the park (babysitter driving) and she looked down and, "Mom's camera!!!!" So there you have it. Just in time for the Circus today! Rusty's dad is doing well after the lung surgery, he will be going to the nursing home to convalesce. Prayers answered.

The quilt shop in town sent an e-mail and is closing soon. Too difficult to run two businesses 75 miles apart. Well, I could have told her that. And to be honest, for my liking, Herrschners has a much better selection of fabric. (Did I tell you that the store is just less than a mile from my house?) They have much Amy Butler, and said they will be getting Sandi Henderson in any time. Good for me, because I tried to order what I needed for my kitchen from Sew Mama Sew, and she is out of one of the colorways. I just wanted to try two so I would have a comparison...you know how it is.

Have a lovely day, I will be at the circus!

Checking in & SWAP?

So, I love this Michael Miller fabric by Sandi Henderson. I think this will be my new kitchen fabric. So I am going to order a sample to make sure it isn't too yellow for my liking. I just love the liveliness of it!

Other than searching for fabric, I have more bad camera news. Now I lost my 35 mm. Seriously. I could not be more annoyed.

We are doing well here, Tom (Rusty's dad) seems to be recovering well from his leg amputation and is looking forward to meeting with the oncologist on Thursday to see what they are going to do exactly about the cancer. Tough guy that's all I have to say. (If you do not know what I am talking about, check the previous post.)

What about some sort of swap? I have a few ideas, but is anyone interested in swapping something? I LOVED the fabric swap hosted by Jen Duncan this time last year, and I am in the mood.

At least I am working hard on my projects and as soon as I do get a new camera, I will post day and night. NOTE: I know I have said I was definitely getting a camera before, well, I unintentionally led you astray. I went to get it, and the price went up. Not from a sale, just because (gas prices?) well anyway, based on principle I just couldn't do it. But I will be caving soon especially now that the 35mm is gone.

Camera issues

Of course any visual blogger does not like the thought that the lens on their camera is having issues. Especially when it is time to share some new projects and Sophia's birthday! But I guess I am taking it to Best Buy (the only repair shop for miles and miles.)

One saving thought all of a sudden is that Jurnee got a digital camera for Christmas, and it isn't quite the camera mine is but it will do short term.

These pillows were some of the gifts I gave this year for Christmas1 The trees were made of mens neck ties.
