I'm Back!

So 1-1/2 years later, I am going to attempt to occasionally blog.  I feel like I have grown so much as a person, and can do this without burden, if nothing else, for my girls to reflect upon someday!

My bedroom furniture before and after, sooooo pleased at how this turned out!  And last night Rusty took the girls to the cabin, and I was able to read in bed for the first time in YEARS!! Life's simple pleasures sure are blessings!

She's 9 already!

Where have the years gone? We could not be more proud of our sweet Jurnee. She is amazing! Sophia loves her sister so much and Jurnee reciprocates. 3rd grade looks to be the best year yet!

Live to laugh and Laugh to live

New project just about finished, just needs a back, stuffing and edging, and I have 5 more in the works...
Hand stitching is my favorite pastime, along with Crocheting, reading and snuggling. But I do love putting a bunch of found treasures to a square of pieced fabric, and see what comes out of it.

A Little Time to Myself

Vacation Bible School week is always a busy one. This week the girls are having a great time, not only do they get to learn about Jesus through singing, dancing, crafts and a wonderful lady teaching the bible lesson, they get to go to Grandma & Grandpa's for lunch each day! I am working most days this week, but today I was home for a few hours alone. I made dinner, and was able to get this bracelet done. It is a gift. I think it turned out pretty good!
Now my photography not so good! I recently poured over the latest Artful Blogging and boy are my photos lacking... I better get on it.

Sewing up a storm here!

These pillows and others can be found on Etsy. My shop name is dawnkristine.
Hope you can find something you like, I will be adding lots over the next few months. I have/am busy. I have a great love for hand stitching and always seem to go back. My grandma taught me when I was about 5-6, and I will always keep this creative outlet in my life!

Blog Neglect

Went to an auction last weekend in the rain! First time I bid on stuff, and I had so much fun! Anyway, I had my eye on the bread box below, (in wonderful condition...btw) and I got the canisters as well! I didn't even have to bid very high.

Sorry about the blog neglect! I am going back to it. Life has been incredibly busy for me. I have been working more and of course the girls are getting busier too, which seems to also be my responsibility. I plan to sell again on Etsy, and keep my blog updated! So hold me to it! I have lots of crazy quilting going on here, as well as some crocheting. I will surely be back soon!

By the way the cute little guy pictured with my ladies is cousin Cedar. During a recent visit, Sophia mothered him so much! It was good to see her in a nurturing role, she is growing up fast now!

Spring...NOT Yet!

I came home from a weekend of shopping one week ago, to this snow, this was after the melty weekend! Since then we have gotten 8ish inches of the pretty white stuff, and it has been very cold. Not much melting going on here.
But the remodeling project is coming along nicely. Stay tuned, pics of the progress are coming!

Sewing Again

Last week amidst the construction dust, I managed to sew the girls each a pillowcase. It was good to sew again! Basement project is almost finished, and then I will be able to create again!

Sophia had cowboy day at school, glad grandma set her up with the gear! Notice the braids!

The last regular season gymnastics meet was last weekend, and Jurnee made the podium! We are so proud of her!

Go Pack Go!

The day after the PACKERS victory, was sports day at Sophia's school. She will not wear "boy shirts." So off to the dress up box I went! Cheerleader- Ta Da!!

The most exciting part of this is that she got to wear her first ponytail!

I have lost my camera and have so much to share, I cannot find it anywhere, I wonder if my little cheerleader took it?

SNOW DAY!!!!!

Finally finished the "Strength" tree from Monster Bubbles. (I tried to link it, but the site is unavailable.) This was a difficult project as the tiny cross stitches almost made me go blind! But I am so glad to be done!

After having 2 days off last week due to conferences, the blizzard conditions, made enough rumble for a snow day! Our first of the year! So Jurnee is dressed appropriately!

I am looking through my blog lists and changing things a bit, come back in a few days to see the new exciting blog list!

Hand quilting...Argh!

I am working on the had quilting of my string quilt. It looks pretty good, picture does not do it justice at all. But I have been back at it pretty much. Painting and decorating the house also. I have been working diligently on the Tree of Life cross stitch, and I should finish it tonight. Pictures will follow.

Trying to get my craft on. I am working diligently on my "Tree of Life" cross stitch. Painted the bathroom, trying to decorate. Hand quilting my first string quilt today, and helping Jurnee with her first sewing project! Sounds ambitious doesn't it?

Buy Local-Buy Handmade

I am going to adhere to this philosophy as much as possible this Christmas and from here on out! I just feel like so many good things could come out of it, how could we ignore this great idea!

Of course I have & will support Lands End, since it is my employer, and a Wisconsin based company and LE has so many wonderful things to offer!

I also have to support someplace for electronics, as we will be upgrading to the 21st century, now that a decade is almost over:( Not sure who to give this business to, since I don't know of any mom & pop local Nintendo stores. I am always inclined to give my business to Shopko since it is a Wisconsin based company, or Target, another midwest fave.

I have a couple of gifts ordered from a very talented lady, & making a few myself.
So a shopping I will do, and baking and decorating too! Happy Cyber shopping week!
