Spring...NOT Yet!

I came home from a weekend of shopping one week ago, to this snow, this was after the melty weekend! Since then we have gotten 8ish inches of the pretty white stuff, and it has been very cold. Not much melting going on here.
But the remodeling project is coming along nicely. Stay tuned, pics of the progress are coming!

SNOW DAY!!!!!

Finally finished the "Strength" tree from Monster Bubbles. (I tried to link it, but the site is unavailable.) This was a difficult project as the tiny cross stitches almost made me go blind! But I am so glad to be done!

After having 2 days off last week due to conferences, the blizzard conditions, made enough rumble for a snow day! Our first of the year! So Jurnee is dressed appropriately!

I am looking through my blog lists and changing things a bit, come back in a few days to see the new exciting blog list!

Snow fun!

Notice the Jets hat, Rusty's contribution:) The weather has been so beautiful for March in Wisconsin 30-40 degrees and sunny.

A little something I whipped up for Sophia's jewels. I collect old jewelry boxes with the idea that I'll do something with them one day. Well, the first fruit of my labors. Sophia and Jurnee love it!

I'm dreaming of a White Christmas-

Looking out my dining room window this morning- beautiful. No school- yeah a true snow day!
These are just a couple of the new bracelets I have made. The one above can be found at the Tomorrow River Gallery & Gifts, and the bottom one-well-a barter for my friend Becky.
Happy Shoveling everyone!!!!

Autumn Life in Wisconsin

Even sick, sick, sick, Sophia can still attempt to eat one of the caramel apples Jurnee and Rusty made for us tonight. Yes, Jurnee is on the mend. Still coughing a bit, but her aches and fever have been gone since Monday morning. Mild case of H1N1? Or not at all, I just don't know what to think. Definitely flu. I bet the little cutie lost 5 pounds, but she is doing cartwheels tonight.

On Monday it snowed all day...very wet snow, but seriously October 12? It snowed again today, but I hear it should be about 55 degrees here by Sunday. Gotta love the changing seasons in Wisconsin.

And the bear paw...so here's the story, last Thursday night for whatever reason Rusty did not lock the patio door. Now if you know Rusty he is so anal about checking the doors, I often get annoyed. But of course I NEVER check since I KNOW he will. Anyway, when I got up on Friday morning, I noticed the patio door was all steamed up, not typical, so I looked more closely and hmmm...the inside door was about a foot open wide, and the storm door was shut, not locked. So, I just closed the door and walked away. I made my coffee, turned around and since the condensation on the door was changing, warm and cold, (I am not a chemist, but anyway) I took a double take and there was a paw print on my door. One very definite paw print, and one that sort of slid down the door. The neighbors have two dachshunds, not their feet, definitely too large for a bird, cat, squirrel, chipmunk, raccoon, turkey, fox or deer. A few people looked at my camera and EXCLAIMED, "that's a bear."
Needless to say, was I just annoyed that my computer got a virus last Thursday night, and I thought I could get rid of it...NOT, but I couldn't blog this:( My computer is saved, some of my more recent photos are not, many of the family photos I did get hard copies of lately...whew! But my new jewelry and stitching photos are gone. So I will be a photographer tomorrow for sure, if I am feeling better. Yes, the yuck struck me yesterday, not sure how bad I have it yet, as I am still able to function, as long as the coughing is quiet or slow.

And best of all, tomorrow I am finally going to make it (if I feel better) to this little art gallery about 15 miles away, I have been trying to get over there for weeks but stuff keeps happening. I would love to get there if I can though, as it seems like my dear friend Liz is successfully filling the place. It is the Tomorrow River Gallery and Gifts, check it out if you are ever in the Amherst area!

Creativity is Flowing again!

These are some birds in progress- I will have many tweeting results to show later this week!
The string quilt is coming along nicely too, I will be ready to put it together by the weekend!
It has been snowing, and the girls are so excited! Especially Sophia! She wants to be out in it all of the time! As I recall, she was also like this last year! Hopefully it won't be too cold to play outside! But of course, the snow did melt, and will come and go again a few times probably before we are inundated with the "pretty" white stuff!

Jack-o-lanterns and a little of the white stuff

I could not get Sophia to look at the camera no matter what I did! But these two girls are beginning to really enjoy each other! It is so fun around here! Jurnee drew her face by herself, and of course Sophia had Daddy's creative hand!

Now I know you will think I am crazy but there was snow falling down like crazy on Monday afternoon, I could not get a photo of it for anything, but if you look really close and imagine, well, you'll see it!

That's all for now. I went down to work on my string quilt yesterday to find that my hubby took a lower cupboard unit ( which I suggested he take) but he unloaded it on my CLEAN workspace. It was full of fabric, but still...now that will have to be my am project tomorrow before work. This working out of the home thing is killing me btw...I do enjoy the job, but I miss my girls while I am away!

Snow, snow go away already!

I just took these photos outside. The one of Sophia is in front of our house in the road...no kidding! The one of both girls is at our front door.
Sophia wants to play in it, and it is about 5 degrees out there. No chance I am hanging out in the wind. Have a great day!

So much fun!

Yesterday the temperature in central Wisconsin was in the 40s (f) tonight, just 24ish hours later, I guess it is something like -1 degree, with a wind chill of -40 degrees expected tonight. Well, that is Wisconsin for you ( or me...hee hee.) But anyway, we had a great time with the girls yesterday outside.

I still have not replaced my camera, and I am thinking hopefully in the next week or so I will get out to do so. These photos aren't too bad, but I am telling you, I cannot take anything inside with Jurnee's camera and it is frustrating, since I have been working on some new things, and I have the inspiration I have been looking for!

I just finished the baby shower invitations for my
sister's shower in 4 weeks, so I am feeling pretty good about not procrastinating.
I am taking some great baby shower tips from my blog friend Jen and her friend too!
