Blogging fun

Today has been a particularly fun day here in Wisconsin. The first real snowfall of the year and we have about 6" of the fluffy white stuff blowing around the neighborhood, and I do mean blowing! But pretty nonetheless.
Last weekend when my sister was here, my other two sisters stopped by and Janell taught them to knit. I have always wanted to do a group stitching day, and NEVER in my wildest dreams did I think it would include my 3 sisters and Jurnee (she was spool knitting.) So it was a fun visit time! And so nice to see my sisters!

Christmas decorating is off to a great start! I have finally worked on my vintage tree that I wanted to do last year and wasn't able to since we were in China getting Sophia. Thank you Jen Duncan for your encouragement! She has been an inspiration to me in many ways, and I went to her for advice recently, and I got it, if nothing else, I know there is someone out there who is feeling overwhelmed like me.

This photo to the left (notice the snow?) is of a Christmas Card holder I have desperately needed for about 5 years. I thought about it last night around 1am before bed and I worked on it this morning and finished it! You know how sometimes it just comes together like that? I might add some sequins yet, but otherwise, it is fulfilling its purpose, we already have received a few Christmas cards!

I think sequins would be a good idea, what do you think?
I also wanted to mention Turkey Feathers.
Have you visited her lately? well she has this great game going on. One needs to go into her archives and find 12 photos that she has selected and tagged with a word, then answer the question she spells out and win a book. Well, I am not finding one of them, which is fine. I spent much of my free moments today on her blog, and I learned so much, and it was worth it for me! I found a couple of patterns I overlooked before, and I plan to order a book on Amazon. So the day was filled with gazing at her beautiful blog, and what a great idea about the game!

Have a great Sunday!
